Force India Set on the Fast Lane of the 2008 F1 Calendar

Force India is the recently conformed Formula One team; just last October 2007 two billionaires Michiel Mol and Vijay Mallya acquired the Spyker F1 team for approximately 88 million Euros. The team's headquarters are located in Northamptonshire, United Kingdom and their spokesman has made it official that the German Adrian Sutil, and the Italians Luizzi and Giancarlo Fischella will be driving during the 2008 scheduled season.

For Mallya it is quite clear all beginnings are difficult but he expects a reasonable season..."I do not for a minute underestimate the challenges before me and my team," Mallya said after announcing the budget for the season as $120 million, an increase of $50 million from last year.

The 2008 season will be an experiment as the team will be using Ferrari engines throughout the year; a deal which could be extended until 2010; the Indian Flag and logo will be used as well. This decision has dual purposes besides promoting the team as Indian presence it has been reported the Indian Olympic Association has come to terms with F1 Boss Ecclestone to hold a Grand Prix in New Delhi starting in 2009.

If the Indian GP organizers are able to meet with all Formula One racing demands and standards; New Delhi will become the fifth new location to be added to the racing calendar along with Valencia, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and South Korea. Concerning the drivers Mr. Mallya stated "I had to choose the drivers very, very carefully because here is a team that also needs to learn,". Fischella will be leading the team in their debut season the 34-year-old Italian believes in the opportunity given as the best option he has had in recent time to show his skills "At the test in Jerez, I was very impressed with the team's professionalism and commitment to move forward and I hope that my experience will help them achieve these goals." Said Fischella.

Alongside will be Adrian Sutil whose last year's performance impressed many and who stated "I am also very excited about the opportunity to work with Giancarlo. He is very experienced and has driven for a World Championship winning team, which can only help both myself and Force India learn and move forward." And lastly but not least important is former Toro Rosso and Red Bull Italian driver Luzzi who will be the official test and reserve driver.

For the moment we are just waiting for the team to release information on their new car and their first test driving which could be announced any time soon.
